When an elephant finds a place infested with bees, they make a sound called the 'bee rumble!'

Elephants are fleeing their destroyed habitats in Africa and trampling onto the land of farmers destroying fences and land. Researchers are looking for ways to end the problem. Since elephants avoid chili plants, they are planting them along the perimeter of farms. They are also putting heavy duty fencing on the farm lands. Another approach they are studying is bees. Elephants are deathly afraid of bees. Bees in Africa are much more aggressive than those in Europe and North America. They're known for chasing their antagonists for over a kilometer. Elephants have pretty thick skin, but there are certain areas like the belly and inside the trunk that have softer skin and tissue vulnerable to the bee stings.
Researchers actually found that elephants have a stamping dance they do to deter them. It isn't a very practical application to Kenyan farmers, though. They don't have the resources or funds to get sound equipment to mimic the bees and real bees would cause a problem on the farm.

A potato has more chromosomes than you!

 

You really hate your biology class? Don’t worry! We are here to make it fun!First of all you must know that you started off as a single cell (yes you were forever alone at some point). That cell divided, made all kind of cells that you can think of and that are how you tissues and organs were created!
How did they know what to do? The chromosomes told them what was up!You’ve probably heard of what a chromosome is before, especially since that’s what you are made of! A chromosome is an organized structure of DNA (This is what makes you unique), protein, and RNA found in cells.
In humans there are 46 chromosomes, of which 23 come from daddy and 23 come from mommy, making us 50 % like mommy and 50 % like daddy! And therefore that makes you a combination of both! So you can thank them or blame them for the way you look, act and behave!
Even though humans are one of the most complex organisms in the world, and that this would make you think we have a lot of chromosomes, we have less than something as simple as a potato! Two more chromosomes than humans!So yeah, next time you see a potato, remember, they are very complex too.

Some people are born with their organs on the opposite side of their body!

Situs Inversus is a rare congenital condition in which a persons visceral organs are locate on the oposite side of their body. For example, the heart, instead of being on the left side of the chest is located on the right side. Though there are varying degrees of ST, most people can live a normal life.
Think about it as if your internal organs are a mirror image. The condition also manifests itself in identical 'mirror' twins, who are exactly the same except that one has Situs Inversus while the other does not. Most people don't even know they have it until they go to the doctor for a different condition.

10 friends played a game of tag for 23 years!

Nine friends have been playing an intense game of tag for the past 23 years. It started in high school during their morning breaks. As they got older they moved away and went to college and got families.
Early on they had a reunion where they decided to keep the game alive and as one of the nine was a lawyer, he drafted a contract with rules of the game and all of them signed it. It is fundamentally your schoolyard game of tag, except the game is only live for the month a February and the last one "it" in February is "it until the following February. So they have twelve months to stew on being "it" and planning their attack." There are no tag-backsies either.
Sometimes one of the members flies to Hawaii for the month of February just to avoid being tagged. Since they live all across the country, their wives act as spies, their assistants run security, and they form alliances. One year, the "it" guy hid in the trunk of his friend's neighbor's car.
The neighbor told the friend he and his wife had to come look at his car. When he popped the trunk the "it" guy jumped out and tagged him. It scared his wife so badly she fell from the curb and tore a ligament. The game gets intense, ya'all.
